I like to whistle
My folks gave me an Irish Tin Whistle a few years ago. I have sorta dabbled around on it off and on for a while, but not ever really tried to really learn to play it. Well it's on now.
I am taking whistle classes given by the music school of the Boston branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirà Eireann. I started last saturday (9/18/2004) in the beginner class, but was happy to be upgraded to the "intermediate" class after my first day. In my first intermediate class (which took place directly after my first beginner class), we learned a tune called "Rolling in the Rye Grass". It's a simple reel, but a lot of fun. I practiced it up for a couple of days, and recorded it tonight (tuesday). Here it is in mp3 format. I used the Microsoft "Sound Recorder" to record it in WAV, and I also added a bit of echo effect, because I think it makes it sound like I'm playing out on some rolling hills of Ireland =). This is the only song I know, so I hope I learn some more soon. I will keep you, faithful readers, informed.

check out the mp3 file, it is pretty cool. Brendan, you definitely should to the intermediate level.
I am looking forward to hearing more.

I always log on at the library--no sound card. Bring your whistle "home" for Christmas, okay?!!

Dude, Hell yeah. I loved that whistle... Can you also make it sound like a train whistle?
